At Zestiny Farm, our orchards are the beating heart of what we do, and at the centre of it all are our lemons.
With 3,000 lemon trees, it’s no surprise that our farm’s name is inspired by this vibrant fruit. However, growing lemons isn’t without its challenges. One of the biggest hurdles we face is timing. Our lemons ripen at the same time as everyone else’s in the region, leading to a market oversupply. This means that despite the abundance, the return often barely covers the cost of picking and packing.
But as the saying goes, when life gives you lemons, make something more! We’re currently on a mission to create a value-added lemon product that will not only make our lemons worth the effort but also offer something unique to our customers. Whether it’s a lemon-based preserve, a health product, or something entirely new, we’re excited about the possibilities.
In addition to our lemon groves, we’ve been steadily expanding our orchards with a diverse range of fruit trees. Our current collection includes oranges, figs, and loquats, which thrive in the rich soil and temperate climate of the Central Coast.
We’ve recently added plums, apricots, peaches, nectarines, kiwis, passionfruit, pears, and nashi pears, all of which are in various stages of maturity. These new additions are part of our vision to offer an even wider variety of fresh, flavourful fruit to our customers. As our orchards continue to grow, we look forward to sharing the fruits of our labour with you! Whether it’s the zesty goodness of our lemons or the sweet taste of our newest arrivals.
